Our mission

The Long Island Media Task Force voices the need for substantial news coverage about “real” issues that are important to Long Island’s 2.8 million residents, as well as to the nation, so that we can become more discerning voters.

We need regular reporting (not just preelection coverage) of:

  • Local political activity, for better and worse – accomplishments, misdeeds, and in between,
  • Areas such as Healthcare, Education, Employment, Economic Trends, Climate Change, and Immigration, to name a few,
  • And we need to know how our hefty taxes are being spent.

LIMTF also works to educate the public about the extent of this serious problem, and where to find alternative and independent news outlets.
